| Reflections 1. What has been especially impactful? Professionally, I am a School Counselor by education and training. When I finished my master’s degree, I had a desire to practice clinically, but never pursued the process. As I was introduced to and progressed in the coursework at Liberty, I saw how beneficial it was to move forward with clinical licensure. 2. What is one way you plan to utilize this strength in your vocation? With the dual licensure, I would be an asset to any team, being able to teach on a clinical or school counseling track. 3. What is your plan to develop excellence in this area? I plan to continue to gain additional certifications to support both areas of licensure and serve students and clients. 4. Reflect on how faith in Christ relates to this competency. A counselor educator has many roles and responsibilities, including instruction of content. As a follower of Christ, the Bible describes teachers’ primary responsibilities as communicating God’s truth, wisdom, and commandments to guide people in faith. My role as a clinician is an extension of my responsibilities as a counselor educator, and I agree with scripture; I should use sound biblical doctrine when guiding people in faith. |
