| Reflections 1. What has been especially meaningful to you personally and professionally? The experience of supervision is especially fulfilling for me because it aligns with the teaching portion of the field. When evaluating student work, I am able to stop and re-teach skills that are vital for their personal and professional growth and development. And because of this experience, supervision overlaps with my love of teaching. 2. What is one way you plan to utilize this strength in your vocation? Due to the overlap that supervision and teaching have, I plan to utilize this strength by pursuing a position as an adjunct professor, and working my way up. Within this position, I will be able to use theoretical models to support students while providing critical feedback during observations and presentations. 3. What is your plan to develop excellence in this area? I plan to continue getting experience in the area of supervision by finishing my degree and progressing through my provisional clinical licensure. In my state, I can then file for my supervision license. With the support of my clinical supervisor, I can supervise interns that are hired and gain additional experience. I also plan to remain a member of professional organizations, where I can have access to research and gain knowledge at conferences. 4. Reflect on how faith in Christ relates to this competency. Hebrews 13:17 (NIV) declares, “Have confidence in your leaders and submit to their authority, because they keep watch over you as those who must give an account. Do this so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no benefit to you.” |
